This week was a busy one for SUNDAY Coffee!
We are very social here at Craft Beverage Jobs, and that gives us a great platform for meeting amazing people in the craft beverage industry all around the world. This week we had an opportunity to open up the Craft Beverage Jobs Google Plus page for two Hangouts On Air (HOA) and meet two amazing people working in the coffee industry.
For today’s SUNDAY Coffee, I thought you would enjoy meeting our special guests.
Talking About Cold Brew Coffee!
Benjamin Lee is the founder of Northern Bayou Coffee Brew Co. in Vermont, where he has been introducing quality cold brewed coffee to local consumers for over a year. We met Ben through our twitter chat, #CraftBevChat (follow @NBColdBrew on twitter), one Tuesday night and were so impressed with his passion for cold brewed coffee that we asked him for an interview.
In our conversation, Ben talks about being a small business entrepreneur and the many hats he wears to get the job done every day. He also shared some of the processes he goes through to produce his cold brewed coffee.
Cuban Coffee And The U.S. Embargo
Headlines about the the United States lifting the embargo on Cuba, are all over the news these days. If the U.S. embargo on Cuba were lifted, what would that mean for the Cuban coffee industry? Would 100% Cuban coffee make its way into the U.S. market?
To help us answer these questions and more, we asked our friend Amanda Cepero with The Cuba Mountain Coffee Co. to join us from her London office, to talk about coffee in Cuba. We covered a lot of topics in this 20 minute interview, including:
- The history of coffee in Cuba
- Cuba’s coffee culture
- Current embargo restrictions
- Realistic potential for Cuban coffee market should the U.S. embargo be lifted
- The future for Cuba’s coffee market
